Albany artist’s new hip-hop track aims to stop youth gun violence

ALBANY, N.Y. — A new hip-hop track by an Albany artist is making waves with its powerful message urging local youth to put down their guns. The track, titled “Ceasefire in Everytown,” is now available on all major streaming platforms.

Eric Thompson told CBS6 his lyrics are positive and free of profanity, though they incorporate street language that resonates with young listeners.

Thompson, who also serves as the coordinator of the Albany Violence Prevention Task Force, released the track following a violent Fourth of July weekend in Albany, during which 10 people were shot, most of them teenagers…
