CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A pivotal hearing will be held on Wednesday morning to determine the future of health care in Clarksville.
Both TriStar Health and Ascension Saint Thomas are vying to open new hospitals in the area. However, they’ll need state approval to do so.

“We have a lot of confidence the program that we’ve designed, in partnership with the community, will meet the health care needs of the community and reduce that out-migration,” Ascension Saint Thomas President and CEO Fahad Tahir told News 2 on Tuesday. “I’m glad it’s being acknowledged that half of Montgomery County residents are choosing to travel outside of the county to receive their care.”
