One trailer was completely destroyed and another “gutted” in a fire in Townsend Friday evening, according to Townsend Fire Chief Don Stallions.
Around 7 p.m. Friday evening, Townsend Fire and Police departments responded to a call about a trailer fire off Rudd Hollow Road. Fifteen area firefighters across four trucks responded to the initial call, but Stallions said the department quickly made the decision to call in mutual aid from Blount County Fire Protection District once they saw how extensive the damages already were.
“When we arrived on scene, one single-wide trailer was already collapsed, with a second single-wide fully involved,” said Stallions. “That second one is still standing, but it was gutted.”…
