MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Yesterday evening, citizens around Mobile reported smelling a “putrid smell” outside.

“I got home, and the smell was putrid. It was this like really nasty smell when you’re outside, and I just assume someone maybe sprayed something or an animal may have died,” Brandt Cannon, who was in West Mobile off Dawes Road around 6:30 p.m., said.
Cannon said when he went back out around 10:00 p.m. to let his dogs out, he still smelled it. When he passed by the Walmart not far from his house today, it started to smell “just as terrible as it did the other night.”
