A Leesburg woman was arrested on a warrant for battery after allegedly hitting his son’s girlfriend in the head with a metal rod.
On the night of Oct. 23, 2024, officers with the Leesburg Police Department responded to a battery complaint at a residential address, according to an affidavit of probable cause out of Lake County. Upon arrival, they met the girlfriend dating the son of 58-year-old Donna Mychel Jackson.
The girlfriend explained that as she was lying in bed, she heard Jackson yelling outside. She told Jackson to leave, but Jackson instead grabbed a black metal rod from a neighbor’s birdfeeder and struck her on the head. Her boyfriend held her down against her will while Jackson struck and scratched her head and neck. Jackson then broke the neighbor’s window before she left the scene with the boyfriend in a white Cadillac, the affidavit said.
The officers observed scratches on the girlfriend’s neck, but she refused medical treatment. She added that she tried to fight with Jackson after being struck, and her boyfriend held her back. Jackson struck and scratched her as he did so, the affidavit said…
