The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) has named Detective Claudia Castro of the Fairfax County (VA) Police Department, as its Officer of the Month for June 2025. Detective Castro was selected for her actions during an investigation that was brought forth by a child victim being solicited online for sex by an unknown adult.
The case began in March and culminated with multiple search warrants and arrests on June 10, 2025. This case ran between Virginia and New York with multiple victims throughout the United States.
Detective Castro has served with the Fairfax County Police Department since 2018. She began her service as a patrol officer and later transitioned to the Major Crimes Bureau, where she was assigned to the Child Abuse Squad.
