San Francisco Bay Area Wildlife Rescue Searching for Volunteers to Foster Orphaned Baby Possums

Regardless of how much people love animals, it’s impossible to deny that not all animals are equally revered. Some are kept as pets, and others as farm animals, but some wild animals are largely disliked due to no fault of their own.

While it’s true that critters like rats, possums, and moles may dig up your garden or rummage through your trash can— that’s just what they do to survive! They are native to many urban areas like the San Francisco Bay Area, where people are realizing what special creatures they are.

The good news is that more and more wild animals are being rescued, but not every animal rescue is ready for the wave of intakes they see each summer. In San Francisco, Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue receives as many as 60 orphaned baby possums at a time, which is why they’re asking the public to please consider signing up as a possum foster parent.
