SMART to silence train horns in Windsor next month after noise complaints

Windsor residents, get ready to enjoy your beauty sleep again. The town’s quiet zone for the newly extended SMART commuter railway is slated to go into effect Tuesday, Aug. 5, barring any complications.

The town “is in the final steps to implementing the quiet zone” designation, Town Manager Jon Davis told Town Council members last week.

With that comes the end of the constant sounding of horns as the SMART train rolls north and south through town nearly 40 times a day…
