Three injured after garbage truck and car crash in northeast Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Three people were hospitalized Tuesday afternoon after a car and a garbage truck crashed in northeast Columbus.

A police dispatcher said that the crash occurred just after 12:32 p.m. at the intersection of St. Clair Avenue and East 5th Avenue. Three people were injured in the crash and all taken to a hospital.

One victim was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition after medics originally pronounced them dead but then got a pulse reading. Another was also taken to Grant in critical condition while the third victim went to Ohio State East Hospital in stable condition.

It is unknown at this time what caused the crash or how many occupants were in each vehicle…
