“That’s a tragedy”: Flash flooding closes downtown Evansville building

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — After a round of flash flooding over the weekend, both Hadi Shrine Temple and Robert’s By The River have temporarily closed it’s doors as owners continue to assess the damages.

“We had between 3-4 inches of water over across the floor, in the offices, and in the the restaurant,” said Hadi Shrine Past Potentate Rick Hubbard. “Some of the drywall is gone and will probably have to be cut out to keep mold from happening.”

Both Hadi Shrine Temple and Robert’s By The River are no strangers to major downtown inconveniences. Earlier this year, the building was dealt with the closure from the sinkhole on Riverside Drive which blocked a large portion of the building’s entrances…
