Baton Rouge men accused of injuring woman in Lafayette, violently resisting arrest

Two Baton Rouge men are facing charges after a violent encounter in Lafayette over the weekend that left a woman injured and in which one of them kicked out a police window while the other spit on officers, according to the Lafayette Police Department. Kadaro Smith, 28, of Baton Rouge, is charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs, battery of a police officer (simple) (3 counts), intentional exposure to AIDS virus (3 counts), simple criminal damage to property, resisting an officer, interfering with a law enforcement investigation, and simple escape; aggravated escape.
