LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — A growing number of Northwest Arkansas counties are temporarily banning construction of wind farms—the latest, Crawford County.
On Monday, the Crawford County Quorum Court passed a five-year moratorium on the construction of commercial wind turbines.
“Crawford county is where I-49 and I-40 intersect. Our population is slated to go from 70,000 to over 300,000 people when this project is completed. If we introduce wind farms here, it will take away the economic growth we are going to have,” State Rep. Brad Hall, (R) Crawford County, told KATV…
