OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A Guatemalan citizen who repeatedly re-entered the U.S. illegally was sentenced earlier this month in an Omaha federal court for using a false Social Security number to get a job in Nebraska.
According to a Wednesday news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Gregorio Pablo-Lares, 38, had been living in West Point, Neb., when he used a fake state ID and a fake Social Security card as proof of his identity. The Social Security Administration later verified that the SSN provided by Pablo-Lares belonged to someone else.
The case against Pablo-Lares was investigated by Homeland Security. HSI determined an order to have Pablo-Lares removed from the United States had been issued in 2018; and that he had been removed from the country and sent back to Guatemala three times in 2018-2019…
