‘A conflict of interest’: STL Sheriff’s new HR officer previously fired stirs controversy

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Sheriff Alfred Montgomery has appointed the former mayor’s HR director, who was fired from that post, as his new chief human resources officer.

In a statement Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office said Sonya Jenkins-Gray would handle all hiring, promotion, retention, and training policies and practices as the office strives to become a more modern agency.
