SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Springfield-Greene County Park Board is offering extended pool hours and opening up cooling centers due to the National Weather Service (NWS) issuing a heat advisory for Greene County until 7 p.m. Thursday.
The Park Board says these cooling options will be available during NWS heat advisories and warnings. This includes keeping one outdoor pool open late, with Meador Pool on 2600 S. Fremont Ave. extending hours to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Silver Springs Pool at 1100 N. Hampton Ave. extending hours to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
Admission is $6 for adults and $5 for kids and seniors from 1-5:30 p.m. Admission drops to $1 from 5:30-6:30 p.m., and extends to 8 p.m. for late pool hours, with free admission for a canned food donation benefitting Ozarks Food Harvest…
