Routine traffic stop in Wilton leads to arrest for DWI and evidence tampering

Saratoga County, NY (WRGB) — A routine traffic stop in the town of Wilton led to the arrest of a 50-year-old Erin Clarkon multiple charges, including tampering with physical evidence and driving while intoxicated.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office reported that Erin Clark, who is homeless, was stopped at 12:23 AM Tuesday on state Route 50 for failing to display two lighted tail lamps. During the investigation, authorities discovered Clark was operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.15%, nearly twice the legal limit.

Clark faces charges of tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor. According to the Sheriff’s Office, she is accused of knowingly and unlawfully possessing methamphetamine and concealing and destroying physical evidence she believed would be used in an official proceeding…
