18-year-old charged with capital murder in Hueytown man’s death

BESSEMER, Ala. (WIAT) — An 18-year-old is behind bars in connection with the fatal shooting of a Hueytown man last month.

On Thursday, Bessemer police announced Quincy Edward Peals Jr. was charged with capital murder in the death of 24-year-old Willie Johnson Jr. Johnson was fatally shot outside of an abandoned house on Clarendon Avenue on June 25.

Death investigation underway in Bessemer

Peals is also charged with attempted murder and is being held without bail.

Detectives with Bessemer Police Department believe at least one other person was involved in the shooting and are actively pursuing leads at this time…
