A Massachusetts man has learned his fate, almost five years after he fatally stabbed a former housemate at his Waltham home on Halloween night.
The Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office announced Jonathan Galindo, 38, of Waltham, was sentenced for the 2020 death of Kevin Fitzgerald, with a judge imposing a life sentence with the possibility of parole after 22 years on his second degree murder conviction. He received an additional 18-year sentence for his armed burglary conviction, but that will be served concurrently.
According to officials, on Oct. 31, 2020, Fitzgerald called 911 around 9:14 p.m. and reported that he had been stabbed and was dying. Officers who responded to his Alder Street home found the 61-year-old at the threshold, profusely bleeding. Fitzgerald, who was conscious and stated that he had been stabbed by a man wearing a ninja mask, was taken to a local hospital where he died just after 10 p.m…
