Local driver sentenced for hitting, killing pedestrian; said he thought he hit a deer

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A driver who struck a pedestrian in Green Township and didn’t stop was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison on Wednesday.

Christopher Groh hit Samuel Codling and another pedestrian on Neeb Road and kept driving in 2023. Codling died five months later.

In legal filings over Groh’s statements, it was revealed Groh was on his way for an emergency service call at 2:30 a.m…
