CLEVELAND (WJW) — About 125 MetroHealth Medical Center employees are being laid off this week as a cost-cutting measure, hospital officials announced Thursday.
The hospital system reported those who are losing their jobs are mostly in administrative positions and affect those from entry-level jobs all the way up to senior leadership.

“This has been a difficult day for our MetroHealth family,” Dr. Christine Alexander-Rager, President & CEO of The MetroHealth System, wrote to employees in an email. “We made these decisions in response to significant financial challenges facing our system. Despite your hard work and steady growth in our volumes, MetroHealth’s expenses continue to outpace revenues. And that gap is growing.”…
