2,200+ without power in Mid-Michigan amid storms

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — As severe thunderstorms sweep across Mid-Michigan, multiple utility providers in the area report that more than 2,000 customers in the area are without power.

In addition to homes without power, we have received reports of traffic lights out in the area of Farm Lane and Mt. Hope Rd. near MSU. If you must drive, do so carefully and treat any traffic lights that are out as four-way stops.

Currently, Consumers Energy is reporting large outages near Michigan State University’s campus, as well as outages near Leslie, near Eaton Rapids, and in Charlotte. Other small outages are scattered throughout the area.

The Lansing Board of Water and Light is currently only reporting 27 customers without power, scattered in central and Eastside Lansing.

DTE Energy is currently reporting that around 100 customers near Williamston are affected by an outage caused by wind damage.
