Teamwork in Owosso leads to life being saved

OWOSSO, Mich. (WNEM) – On June 14 Owosso resident Frank Livingston suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while walking with his friend. Thanks to the actions of neighbors, dispatchers, police, fire personnel and a paramedic intern, Livingston is alive today to thank those who saved his life.

In a Facebook post, the City of Owosso Government says the situation began when Livingston’s neighbor and friend Linda Robertson called Shiawassee County Central Dispatch after he collapsed. While dispatching emergency responders, Supervisor Jenny Plowman and Dispatchers Janelle Sines and Emily Walker coached Robertson through CPR over the phone.

A passing motorist, Sylvia Hines, saw the emergency, pulled over and began chest compressions, guided step by step by the dispatchers. Moments later Owosso Police Officer Ryan Gracz arrived and continued lifesaving efforts…
