Teacher shortage impacts Metro Schools, seeks to hire 170+ educators

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – In less than two weeks, Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) students will return to class.

Ahead of it, the district is making a last-minute effort to fill 170 teacher vacancies.

“The aggressive efforts are now and they have been,” MNPS director of Talent Acquisition Brigitte Tubbs-Jones explained. “We want to get to zero and so we are pulling out all the stops.”…
