Three Pennsylvania residents sentenced in drug trafficking case

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — Troy Rivetti, acting U.S Attorney, announced Thursday that three Pennsylvania residents have been sentenced to prison for narcotics trafficking.

Azheem Ellis, 49, from Philadelphia, James Dotson, 47, from Johnstown, and Sandra Box, 59, from East Conemaugh, were all sentenced by U.S. District Judge Marilyn J. Horan after they were convicted of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute crack cocaine, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine.

The authorities say from April 2018 to around July 2021, Ellis conspired with others to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute multiple grams of fentanyl, meth, and heroin, among other controlled substances. Dotson was also actively trafficking drugs around that same time, while also unlawfully possessing a firearm in June 2021 despite being previously convicted of a felony.
