Woman who tried to flee courthouse pleads guilty to assaulting deputy

A woman charged with knocking over a court deputy and then unsuccessfully trying to flee Toledo Municipal Court pleaded guilty Thursday morning in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to a single first-degree count of felonious assault.

Kara Rose, 33, of the 200 block of Nevada Street, faces up to 11 years in prison when Judge Lori Olender sentences her Aug. 19, although defense lawyer Autumn Adams said outside the courtroom she hopes case details will persuade the judge to be less severe.
