LITTLE CYPRESS, Texas — Students at Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School are reaching new heights in education, thanks to a $12,000 grant from Dow Chemical that will expand and modernize the school’s aerospace engineering program.
The funding will allow the district to purchase drones, update curriculum, and provide certification opportunities. These are efforts that aim to better prepare students for careers in emerging technology fields.
“Our aerospace program hasn’t been updated in a while,” said Jeff Collier, who has taught the class for the past eight years. “I thought for a second, I was on the spot, and I said I would implement drones. That’s cutting-edge technology.”…
