Katy ISD KEYS Mentoring Program Seeks Volunteers as 2025-26 School Year Nears

With the 2025-2026 school year just around the corner—starting August 13, 2025— Katy ISD is calling on adults across the Katy area to consider becoming a KEYS Mentor (Keep Encouraging Youth toward Success), a program designed to change lives through meaningful one-on-one relationships rather than academic tutoring. Available on every campus at every grade level, KEYS focuses on the power of connection, giving students a trusted adult who believes in their potential.

“Every child is one caring adult away from being a success story,” youth advocate Josh Shipp famously said, and KEYS embodies that belief. Mentors commit to spending one hour per week during the school day, building trust and sparking hope in students who need extra encouragement.
