OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The City of Omaha addressed the issue of a downtown sinkhole Thursday — but for many residents, it’s been a lingering frustration.
“How do you just leave a problem that obvious out?” asked Miri and London Dawson, who live near the site. “I mean… it’s starting to smell, there’s trash in there…”
The sinkhole, located on 16th Street between Farnam and Harney, opened up in January after a garbage truck fell through. Since then, it’s remained blocked off — becoming what neighbors say is an eyesore and a safety concern…
