100 degrees expected in South Texas on Thursday, but here’s when temps will drop

In recent years, 100-degree heat has been the norm for the San Antonio area. Since 2010, San Antonio has averaged 28 days a year when temperatures reached the triple-digits.

This year, though, temperatures have been extremely out of the ordinary. Through Wednesday, San Antonio has recorded just three days with high temps of 100 degrees or more, and it’s been 64 days since our last 100-degree day on May 20.

That streak might end Thursday, though. Under bright sunshine and high atmospheric pressure overhead, temperatures will soar across South Texas. The triple-digit heat looks to be short-lived, though, thanks to a weak tropical system that will bring clouds and slight rain chances to South Texas by the weekend. Here’s a look at what you can expect.
