Northeast DC residents calling for traffic lights at busy intersection to be fixed

WASHINGTON (7News) — Residents in the Eckington neighborhood of Northeast DC told 7News they are worried about their safety and traffic congestion after the traffic lights at a busy intersection have stopped working.

According to community members, the traffic lights at the intersection of Lincoln Road NE and R Street NE have been off for weeks. Pepco confirmed to 7News these lights have been out since late June, which is around a month ago.

While out in the neighborhood Wednesday afternoon, talking with community members who said they were frustrated and concerned about these outages, 7News On Your Side witnessed two cars nearly collide…
