Dallas man arrested after active shooter incident linked to motorcycle gang

DALLAS, Texas — A 54-year-old man was arrested following an active shooter call on July 16, 2025, in the 1500 block of North Beckley Avenue. Southwest Patrol officers responded to the scene after witnesses reported a man shooting at a car.

Upon arrival, officers found David Frank, of Dallas, Texas, at a residence on Beckley Avenue, along with fired cartridge casings and possible blood on the ground, indicating a recent shooting, according to a press release from the department. Detectives obtained a search warrant, leading to the seizure of two handguns, ammunition, body armor, and gang paraphernalia associated with a known motorcycle gang. A second search warrant allowed officers to confiscate additional gang memorabilia, including a leather vest with patches.
