Emaciated 28-pound dog found on Ann Arbor roadside; shelter seeking information

ANN ARBOR, MI — A local animal shelter is asking for the public’s help after a passerby found an emaciated dog was on the side of an Ann Arbor road.

The concerned person brought in the dog Sunday, July 21, after finding it covered in urine and feces near the intersection of Chalmers Drive and Washtenaw Avenue, the Humane Society of Huron Valley reported in a news release.

The dog, which staff have named Chickadee, is roughly 5 years old and is a bulldog mix. She weighed just 28 pounds, roughly half of what she should, Tanya Hilgendorf, president and CEO of the shelter, said in a statement…
