Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest, Seizure of Firearms and Narcotics

July 24, 2025 – Kern County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on July 22, 2025, deputies assigned to the Kern Valley Substation conducted a traffic stop in the 15000 block of Highway 178 for a vehicle displaying expired registration.

During the course of the investigation, deputies located a loaded firearm and suspected methamphetamine inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as 60-year-old Bryan Clements of South Lake, was determined to be a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. Clements was taken into custody at the scene…
