Critical Repair Program taking applications in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The City of Birmingham Community Development Department is accepting applicants for its Critical Repair Program.

The program, which is supported through an annual allocation of $1.5 million in Community Development Block Grant funding through HUD, provides home repairs to 100 households annually within Birmingham.

Applicants should be prepared to provide the following to qualify:

  • Proof of ownership
  • Proof of occupancy
  • Be of low-to-moderate income & provide proof of income for ALL household residents
  • Provide last two months of bank statements for ALL household residents
