Mount Pleasant, S.C. (WCBD) – The Lowcountry is expecting a record high heat wave this weekend, but the 21st Annual Sweetgrass Festival isn’t letting the heat interfere.
Mount Pleasant is known as the home of the original Sweetgrass basket makers, and Saturday July 26th, is the 21st annual festival. The Sweetgrass festival has been a tradition since 2004, and local organizers say the celebration will carry on amidst the heat.
Mount Pleasant Community Affairs and Marketing Div. Chief, Nicole Harvey, explained being in the middle of July, the Lowcountry is no stranger to high heat. “We have an air conditioned area where the slave artifacts are and misting fans at the entrance”…
