CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Summer’s heat, high humidity will build into our latest heat wave taking us through the weekend. First Alert Weather Days during this stretch for the excessive heat and humidity. More Heat Advisories are likely. Take all those steps to stay cool!
Daytime highs will top out well in the 90s. Couple this with the high humidity, and the heat index or real feel temperatures will range from 100 – 110 during the afternoon. Both Saturday and Sunday, some scattered afternoon and evening storms. A few isolated severe storms with gusty winds, spotty hail and localized flooding will be possible.
This developing heat wave will take us into next week. Muggy nights, hot and humid, with a few storms each day. We will watch a stronger cold front by the end of next week. The pattern shows signs of changing for the final days of July and start to August next weekend, with cooler and drier conditions returning.
