Hamilton Co. deputies seek answers after sheriff prohibits some Tasers in jail, attorney says

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Some deputies at the Hamilton County Justice Center say they’re upset that Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey is no longer allowing them to carry Tasers inside the jail but the sheriff insists it is a misunderstanding.

The attorney representing the deputies, Zack Gottesman, confirms that at least some of the officers are no longer permitted to carry a Taser gun.

“It is a shock to the (deputies) that they are being deprived of a necessary piece of equipment for the deputy’s safety,” said Gottesman…
