When I became mayor in 2013, I made a promise to help strengthen Mayfield Heights – not just for today, but for generations to come. This city has always been home to hardworking people, strong traditions and neighbors who care about one another. My goal has been to build on that foundation and ensure Mayfield Heights remains a place people are proud to call home.
Over the past decade, we’ve made real, lasting progress. One of our proudest accomplishments is the Mayfield Heights Aquatic and Community Center. More than just a modern facility, it has become a gathering place for families, seniors and children. The project was made possible through the residents’ support of a payroll tax increase, and it also allowed us to reinvest in critical infrastructure throughout the city.
We’ve rebuilt major streets, including Commonwealth, Genesee, Worton and Crestwood, with long-lasting cement surfaces, revitalizing neighborhoods and boosting property values. A $6 million reconstruction of Marnell Avenue is up next – a project that will address long-standing flooding issues by upgrading sanitary lines and protecting homes.
