Fort Wayne police increase weekend patrols in response to violence

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Fort Wayne police say they’re stepping up patrols downtown after recent violence in the community.

Most recently, police responded to a fatal stabbing on Stardale Drive. Officers were called to the scene at 9:30 p.m. Thursday when they found a man suffering from a stab wound; he later died at the hospital.

Violence has been a topic now for weeks, from stabbings to shootings, and the founder of Big Hearts Community Project, Roderick Parker, often shows up at violent crime scenes to support families…
