Celebrating 35 years of Little River Wetlands Project

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (WANE) – The Little River Wetlands Project held its annual fundraiser Thursday evening, Frogapalooza: Wine, Wetlands & Art.

This year the nonprofit is celebrating 35 years in northeast Indiana. The event directly supports the restoration, protection and education efforts for the Little River Wetlands Project.

“The wetlands are really, really important for our community,” said Cammy Sutter, Executive Director of Little River Wetlands Project. “They help control flooding they act as a big sponge soaking up flood waters, so they do a lot of good for the for the community. Eagle marsh is one of the state’s biggest wetland restorations. The fact that we have right here in Fort Wayne, an 800 acre wetland right in the city limits, it’s our crown jewel and we’re really proud of it.”…
