Guilford County suspends intake of healthy cats amid rabies cases

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Guilford County Animal Services is temporarily suspending the intake of healthy cats following confirmed rabies cases in the Jamestown area, officials announced this week.

The measure, taken out of an abundance of caution, will remain in place until further notice. Animal Services will continue to accept cats that are sick, injured, or considered a danger to the public, officials said.

Residents who observe cats displaying signs of rabies are urged to contact Guilford County Animal Control immediately at 336-641-5990…
