Lancaster man charged with impersonating park ranger at Lancaster County Central Park

LANCASTER, Pa. — A Lancaster man has been charged with impersonating a public servant after police say he falsely claimed to be a park ranger and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer at Lancaster County Central Park.

Zachary Michael Bernhardt, 26, was charged Wednesday afternoon by West Lampeter Township Police, who received two separate reports from women claiming they had been approached by a suspect claiming to be a park ranger.

In both cases, police said, the man told the women he was enforcing a new law requiring dogs at the park to be on a leash. He allegedly threatened both women with fines of $300, according to police…
