THP to set up safety checkpoints across southern Tennessee this August

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) will be conducting a series of sobriety checkpoints across the state throughout August in an effort to crack down on impaired driving.

Troopers will be stationed at key locations in both rural and urban counties, including Shelby, Giles, Lawrence, and Maury, with the goal of reducing alcohol-related crashes and saving lives.
