Mobile’s new aquatic center to ease crowded swim meets

MOBILE, Ala.  (WKRG) — A cramped swim meet at a local community college is getting athletes and coaches alike excited for a new aquatic center coming to Mobile.

Around 500 athletes competed at the Mobile County Aquatic League’s city meet at Bishop State Community College on Friday.

With all of those competitors and all of their fans it was one very crowded, and loud room.

Tyler Kerns, the head coach of the City of Mobile Swim Association said, “A lot of energy and enthusiasm, probably as loud as I’ve heard it before in there today. First time I think I’ve had to cover my ears in there, and I’ve been here for twenty years.”…
