MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The city has spent about half of the $300,000 committed in May for the purchase of new security cameras and equipment, a spokesman said Thursday.
The Mobile City Council approved the spending in response to a fatal shooting at Herndon-Sage Park in April.
For “operational reasons,” officials said they did not want to say how many cameras have been installed or where. But previously, officials told FOX10 News that about 30 are in place and confirmed that includes Sage Park, where former high school basketball star Frenicka Craig died from a shooting while watching a hoops game.
