Back on July 5th, New York State Police say a Trooper was dispatched by Cortland County 9-1-1 around 11 at night of a vehicle complaint on Route 13. Dispatch reported to State Police the complaint was for a vehicle passing vehicles at a high rate of speed and traveling over double solid lines.
A Trooper saw the vehicle get on I81 North still continuing at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was initially conducted near the 63 mile-marker in Preble, State Police say. During this initial stop, State Police say the driver, later identified as 26 year old Cameron Ogletree of Syracuse, provided a false name. During the course of the stop though, State Police say, Ogletree sped off and failed to comply with Troopers when they attempted to make another traffic stop.
State Police ended up not pursuing Ogletree due to safety concerns for other motorists…
