The cancelation of this year’s Cortana Kiwanis Christmas Parade comes down to the cost of providing security for the event, organizers say.
The downtown Christmas parade, which raises money for local children’s charities, has been held in Baton Rouge for 74 years and regularly attracts crowds of over 75,000 people. The Cortana Kiwanis of Baton Rouge organizes the parade each year, and 2025’s was originally scheduled for Dec 13.
