CLINTON, Miss. (WJTV) – Electric cars have recently boomed in popularity, and Clinton is looking to expand access to chargers for drivers of these vehicles.
Clinton leaders announced plans to open 12 new EV charging stations in five different locations around the city. This project is part of Adopt a Charger’s Charge Up! Mississippi initiative in partnership with Entergy Mississippi. The installation of the chargers will be done by Clinton-based Lavallee Electrical.

Adopt a Charger is a nonprofit organization that seeks to install and maintain EV chargers in parks, museums, beaches and other widely used public places. These chargers are fee-free public chargers funded by sponsors, corporations, organizations and individuals who “adopt” the chargers.
These Level 2 chargers will offer up to 25 miles of range per hour and are planned for the following locations:
- Clinton Visitor Center
- Olde Towne Depot
- Brighton Park
- Pickleball Complex at Kids Towne Park
- Traceway Park
