Program to help with home fixes in Rockford to accept applications soon

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A program that helps people in Rockford who can’t afford to pay for home repairs will soon reopen to accept new applications.

The next round for the Expanded Rehab Assistance Program opens Aug. 4 through 8.

Homeowners may qualify for up to $60,000 as a three-year forgivable mortgage loan to help make critical repairs like health and safety hazards, code violations, and accessibility needs in their home…
