Headway made on new school going up in SGF

SPRINGFIELD, MO – While students and teachers get ready for a new year, construction crews are busy making progress on a brand-new school.

In recent weeks, contractors have made headway on the new Pipkin Middle School in central Springfield. The project is the largest undertaken by Springfield Public Schools in recent years.

The new facility, being constructed on North Campbell Ave between Lynn St. and Division St., will replace the current middle school a few blocks to the south on N. Boonville Ave. The present Pipkin was built in 1925 and has plumbing, electrical, and other infrastructure challenges, according to SPS. The new facility will provide a modern learning environment for students and staff while providing more room for classrooms, offices, and other functions.  It will also provide space for growth in the future…
